Congratulations to Gordon Penver and his team who won the APAC DCD Data Centre Operations Team of the Year in Singapore in September 2019.

All four projects were delivered with no unexpected customer downtime or outages, and customers did not lose access to the data centre. The projects delivered on the goal of upgrading capacity without disrupting customer access.

Building Tuning the Next Phase
chrisb posted on 13 September 2018
As the commissioning of a building is completed so starts the next phase of the life for the building services, that being building tuning. As part of our scope on most of our commissioning projects we are required to lead the 12 month building tuning phase. Generally this is not done well or at all with the project momentum lost at practical completion leaving a building at best commissioned but not tuned to suit its occupants. We have been spending a lot of effort refining our building tuning delivery so that it is not just us and the BMS contractor looking at the BMS data each month but a fully collaborative approach with the owners facilities team, the key sub trades and the main contractor all feeding into the process. We are still working on a best for industry practice but we are having success on projects such as the Wakatipu, Rolleston, Aranui and Ormiston high schools, the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct and at the University of Canterbury projects. Andrew Cairney is leading this for us with assistance from Troy Foster and Jarrod Tucker.
