The Facilities Infrastructure Refurbishment Project (FIRP) at Auckland District Health Boards is a large and complex programme of works focused on upgrading critical building services infrastructure across Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre.
Pacific has been involved in various aspects of this project. Initially, we were engaged as Workstream Managers for the critical building services plant upgrades, and subsequently in Tranche 2 as Building Services and Commissioning Managers for Built Environs on the Central Plant and Tunnels Project. This stage of the project delivered significant infrastructure upgrades, including four backup generators and associated power supply systems, one million litres of emergency water storage, a five-storey seismic-resilient services building, cooling systems designed to maintain safe and stable environments, medical gas infrastructure supporting hospital operations, and a 245-metre services tunnel connecting critical infrastructure across the site.
