Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) is being incorporated into many modern office building designs, whether it’s through the NZGBC Green Star rating system, or  because it makes sense to the building owner from an operational cost perspective. Systems such as energy metering, solar hot water heating, intelligent lighting control for daylight harvesting, rainwater recovery, chilled beams, and high efficiency boilers are all making conventional building services design more complex. As a result, a high standard of commissioning is required.
