Historically a dairy farming community, Ormiston’s population is predicted to grow to 36,000 by 2028 – the size of a town like Gisborne.

The delivery of high-quality health care is crucial in a community increasing at this pace, so the new 3-storey building extension to Ormiston Hospital is a welcome addition, doubling its capacity, with surgery and patient rooms.

Pacific has been with the project since its inception, working with complex requirements including minimising air leakage in surgery rooms, critical back up generation and the integration of older technology into the updated services, while ensuring the older parts of the hospital communicate with the new.
