Throughout his career, Carl has woven his passion for problem solving and constant improvement into his engineering qualifications and experience. Passionate about Pacific Commissioning, where he trained as a services engineer before working in the USA for six years, he returned as a Senior Building Services and Commissioning Engineer and became a Director of the business in 2009.

Recent Projects

University of Auckland - New Engineering School Building

Many in the Pacific Commissioning team have fond memories of attending classes at the old Engineering School, so it was a full circle to return and rebuild the facility. The new 11-storey building with an exposed structure has more than 800 rooms, including the complexity of laboratories with specialist facilities that made the proect both technically challenging and incredibly fulfilling.

The exceptional new facilities allow both the university and the engineering industry to continue developing future-focused engineers. We're looking forward to seeing the next generation of services engineers who have created solid foundations in this purpose-built space.

Commercial Bay, Auckland CBD

As one of the first buildings on the skyline as you travel over the Auckland Harbour Bridge and a key entry point into the CBD, the prominence of this project and the benefits for the city were key drivers in Pacific Commissioning's desire to play a role in this transformational project.

Commercial Bay has converted the tired and dated QE2 Square at the bottom of Queen Street into a modern destination that the city is proud of. This gourmet food and commercial hub is often the first port of call for thousands of cruise ship passengers, while adding a vibrancy and world-class drawcard to downtown Auckland.

10 Madden Street / 12 Madden Street

12 Madden St was designed with sustainability at its heart and was the country's first and largest purpose-build co-working space at his 2017 completion. 10 Madden Street followed in 2020 with its goal of connecting people, public spaces and amenities, achieving a 6-Star Green Star rating.

Both Precinct projects, Pacific Commissioning worked with the same collaborative team of engineers and contractors. This successful blend of people and entities have now embraked on a third project together. Being able to establish trust throughout the duration of the project, while continually learning from the process as a team, has set the scene for continued success and excellence.
